Participation of Cosmetology Students and Lecturers in the BIP Programme in Daugavpils (Latvia)
From 24 to 28 November 2025, cosmetology students from the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, together with lecturers Mirosława Grabas-Wyrwich MSc, and Agnieszka Stasieńko-Tłuczek MSc, took part in an international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled “A Complex of Aesthetic Cosmetology Procedures to Improve Skin Regeneration Processes”. The programme was organised by the DU Agency “DU Daugavpils Medicinas Koledza” in Latvia.
The project also involved student groups and academic staff from universities in Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, and Poland. This created a unique environment for integration, comparison of educational approaches and the exchange of experiences related to modern aesthetic cosmetology.
Programme implementation
During the five-day stay, participants took part in a series of specialist activities, including both theoretical lectures and practical workshops. The programme covered topics such as:
- face-lifting massage and its impact on skin regeneration,
- micropigmentation techniques and principles for achieving natural treatment effects,
- the use of multispectral light technology in cosmetology,
- skin stimulators and their application in regenerative therapies,
- classical facial massage and eyelash lamination as elements of modern aesthetic cosmetology.
Particular interest was shown in diagnostic workshops using the PHANTOM MD system, which enables skin condition analysis based on multispectral imaging. Participants also visited EVA Clinic, run by a graduate of Daugavpils University, where they learned about the practical application of the discussed methods in everyday cosmetology practice.
Importance of participation in the programme
Participation in the BIP programme proved to be a highly valuable educational and professional experience. The students had the opportunity to develop their practical skills, become familiar with international working standards, and broaden their knowledge of modern technologies used in cosmetology treatments. For the teaching staff, the programme provided an opportunity to exchange experiences with experts from other countries, establish academic contacts and learn about different teaching methods used at European cosmetology institutions. The BIP programme is an excellent example of the value of international cooperation and makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of education in the field of cosmetology.
