Participation of Cosmetology Students and Academic Staff in the BIP Programme in Daugavpils (Latvia)

Participation of Cosmetology Students and Academic Staff in the BIP Programme in Daugavpils (Latvia)

From 24 to 28 November 2025, cosmetology students of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, together with academic staff members Mirosława Grabas-Wyrwich, MSc, and Agnieszka Stasieńko-Tłuczek, MSc, participated in an international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled “A Complex of Aesthetic Cosmetology Procedures to Improve Skin Regeneration Processes”. The programme was organised by the DU Agency “DU Daugavpils medicinas koledža” in Daugavpils, Latvia. The project brought together students and academic staff from higher education institutions in Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria and Poland, creating an international platform for integration, the exchange of experience and the comparison of educational approaches in the field of modern aesthetic cosmetology.

Programme implementation
During the five-day mobility, participants took part in a series of specialised academic activities combining theoretical lectures with practical workshops. The programme addressed key issues related to contemporary aesthetic cosmetology, including:

  • face-lifting massage and its role in skin regeneration processes,
  • micropigmentation techniques and principles for achieving natural treatment effects,
  • the application of multispectral light technology in cosmetology,
  • skin stimulators and their use in regenerative therapies,
  • classical facial massage and eyelash lamination as components of modern cosmetology practice.

Particular interest was generated by diagnostic workshops using the PHANTOM MD system, which enables advanced skin condition analysis based on multispectral imaging. As part of the programme, participants also visited EVA Clinic, managed by a graduate of Daugavpils University, where they became familiar with the practical implementation of the discussed methods in everyday cosmetology practice.

Participation in the Blended Intensive Programme constituted a valuable educational and professional experience for both students and academic staff. Students had the opportunity to develop practical skills, gain insight into international professional standards and expand their knowledge of innovative technologies applied in cosmetology treatments. For the teaching staff, the programme provided a platform for exchanging experiences with international experts, establishing academic contacts and becoming acquainted with diverse teaching methodologies applied at European cosmetology institutions. The BIP programme represents an excellent example of the benefits of international cooperation and makes a significant contribution to enhancing the quality of education in the field of cosmetology at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa.
