Conference entitled “Building a future without accidents!” at University of Applied Sciences in Nysa

On 10 of  December 2025, a conference entitled “Building a future without accidents!” was held, co-organised by the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa and the Regional Labour Inspectorate in Opole.

For years, construction has remained one of the industries with the highest accident risk, with significant proportions of incidents having particularly serious consequences. The results of inspections carried out on construction sites indicate a high level of irregularities in the field of occupational safety, which confirms the need to insensitive efforts to reduce occupational risks. The conference was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, present best practices and discuss modern solutions supporting occupational safety in the construction sector. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Chief Labour Inspector, Mr. Marcin Stanecki. 
The event was supported by the following partners:

  • Polish Chamber of Commerce for Scaffolding and Formwork,
  • Opole Polish Chamber of Civil Engineers.

The conference was held in the auditorium of Collegium Polytechnicum at University of Applied Sciences in Nysa and attracted a wide range of participants, including representatives of local government and public administration, uniformed services, offices, trade unions, employers' organisations, the scientific community, as well as employers, construction and works managers, health and safety specialists, students and  schoolchildren from educational institutions in Nysa.

The participants were welcomed by Grzegorz Czapla- Regional Labor Inspector in Opole and PhD. Mariusz Kosłowski- Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa. A letter addressed to the participants by the Chief Labour Inspector, Mr. Marcin Stanecki, was read out by the Regional Labour Inspector in Opole. The conference and discussion were moderated by PhD Architect Piotr Opałka, professor at the faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa.

  • PhD Adam Ujma, Faculty of Technical Sciences at University of Applied Sciences in Nysa “Environmental conditions and accident rates on construction sites”,
  • Bartosz Wzorek chief specialist, UDT, Wrocław Branch: “Work safety when operating cranes – how to prevent accidents”,
  • Monika Jangas, Central Institute for Labour Protection – PIB: “New solutions in the field of protective clothing to improve safety on construction sites”,
  • Dagmara Tyc, Director of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Scaffolding and Formwork: “Scaffolding under control – good practices and common mistakes”,
  • Rafał Dolak, Health and Safety Coordinator at ADAMIETZ, IRATA Level 3 industrial climber, height rescue specialist: “Why do people fall? The psychology of mistakes in working at height”,

The conference was summarised by Grzegorz Czapla, Regional Labour Inspector in Opole, and Prof. Mariusz Kosłowski Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, who announced further operation and new initiatives to improve working conditions, reduce risks and raise safety standards in the construction industry.
